The annual celebration is dedicated to promoting Malawi to the world as part of tourism, cultural exchange, and the showcasing the rich diversity of Malawian art and music.

Introducing one of artists from the line-up: Merchah. At just 9 years old, Merchah’s musical journey began with the rhythmic beats of church drums—a passion that has remained ingrained in his soul ever since. Fast forward to 2018, and his path took a professional turn when he crossed paths with Malawian producer, Chawabeats, setting his career trajectory in motion.
As a recording artist under MagicFingers MW and Audio 05, Merchah’s compositions pulsate with the vibrant influences of iconic figures like Wambali Mkandawire, Fela Kuti, and George Mkandawire. Always eager to push his versatility with his vocals, songwriting & compositions – Merchah is set to light the stage on fire as he is also a Mzuzu native penning his songs in Tumbuka, one of Malawi’s local languages.
Since his debut recording in 2016, Merchah has been crafting melodies & representing the North with a sound that is earning him a well-deserved place in the spotlight. Attend this year’s Winter BushFest to find out why!
